What Are 3 Ways To Turn Off Scroll Lock in Excel?

Here are three ways to turn off Scroll Lock in Excel:

  • Using the Scroll Lock Key

The most straightforward way to turn off Scroll Lock is to press the Scroll Lock key on your keyboard. If your keyboard does not have a dedicated Scroll Lock key, you may need to use the function key (often labeled as "Fn") along with another key, such as F12 or the Pause/Break key, to toggle Scroll Lock on and off.

  • Using the On-Screen Keyboard

If you are using a laptop or a keyboard without a Scroll Lock key, you can use the On-Screen Keyboard to turn off Scroll Lock. To access the On-Screen Keyboard, go to the Start menu, search for "On-Screen Keyboard," and then click on the result. Once the On-Screen Keyboard is open, click on the "ScrLk" button to toggle Scroll Lock on or off.

  • Using Excel Options

You can also turn off Scroll Lock in Excel options. To do this, go to the File tab on the Ribbon, click on Options, and then click on Advanced. Under the Display options for this workbook section, you will see an option labeled "Show horizontal scroll bar" and "Show vertical scroll bar". Make sure that both of these options are checked. If they are unchecked, click on them to turn them on. Then, close the Excel Options window to apply the changes.
